Our History

It was the late 1980’s, and I was on call at a financial firm, working at TIAA-CREF. A mature, well-to- do couple walked in. They were educated people-- the husband, a professor at NYU; the wife, a professor at CUNY. The man poured the contents of a shopping bag onto my desk. A plethora of unopened mail lie before me: bank statements, savings account, insurance policies, etc. I looked up at the couple quizzically? The woman replied, “What can we do about retirement?” This is where we come in. We help our clients to simplify their lives, by getting their finances in order and aggregating everything, then we can begin the planning process

That was a formative experience for me. The husband had accumulated $1.7 million dollars in assets, the woman $700,000, and they didn’t know what to do with it. I realized then the extent to which people need guidance concerning money. Being educated and wise does not always mean you are money-smart. To be empowered financially, you must be educated financially.

We adopted a mission of fostering financial literary among children and minority students through mentoring, advising and providing scholarships to deserving students.

The relationships we have made and the children we have helped make me so glad that I took that leap of faith. The rewards have far eclipsed the challenges.

It is our great privilege and passion to help people overcome the challenges they face in the pursuit of their financial and life goals. Our motto is Wealth Strategies for Working People, and we strive to provide the highest quality service and advice to all of our clients, regardless of income.
